Location, Location, Location

As they say when buying a new house or opening a business the most important criteria is Location and Location and err…. Location. Cavendish Conference Venues have always taken this view, when we first opened our doors at the Mayfair and indeed later when we subsequently opened the Cavendish Conference Centre and the ICO. This time we’ve surpassed ourselves with our newest venue America Square opening in September. We are just two minutes walk from Tower Hill and Fenchurch Street stations. Well they do say practice makes perfect.

Who wants to make a sale?

With more and more people tightening their belts and watching their money you would think that companies would be falling over themselves to follow up on sales enquiries. Not strictly the case we’ve been chasing up two potential suppliers for weeks now for them to call us but to no avail one of them 6 calls over two weeks. Maybe we’re not good enough, maybe they have enough business or that they have ceased to trade – I hope not!
In the case of our clients or prospective clients, at Cavendish Conference Venues we think you’re worth it, we promise to call you back at the earliest possible moment. Big or small enquiries we welcome one and all!

Hot in the City, Air-Conditioned at the Cavendish and Mayfair and ICO

Taking the 94 bus home the other evening from the Cavendish Conference Centre I remembered why I hate when London heats up. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for sunshine and blue skies what I’m against is having no real choice. Yes, you can use the tube or the bus to get home but there’s no real difference sweltering in a tunnel on the tube or baking on a bus whose heating system is on all year round it can’t be switched off – so as a paying customer you have no choice. Here at Cavendish Conference Venues all of our Conference Centres are fully air conditioned. Yes, the Cavendish, Mayfair and ICO Conference Centres are cool in summer and cosy in winter, as will our two new venues opening this year America Square and the Hallam. Your only dilemma – which to choose.
Now isn’t that a breath of fresh (cool) air!

Have you heard the one about the Four Conference Venue Companies in the one room all vying for business?

You’d think that when looking for sales by presenting to a conference agent that if you put four different companies in the one room it would be a bun fight, cloak and dagger or murder in the presentation room with a promotional branded umbrella. However this is not the case. If you’ve been following the blog so far you will know that Dermot Waldron of Cavendish Conference Venues has been spreading the word about our 3, soon to be 5 Conference Venues. What actually happened was co-operation, sharing and generosity. There was no fighting over the best spot, hogging the limelight or sabotage – we were like the little mice in Bagpuss putting the exhibition stand for one of the competitors who was pregnant ; calming the young lady who was new to presenting and fetching glasses of water for each other to ensure we were all hydrated. Yes, you can be competitive in business it doesn’t mean that you can’t be civilised. The young lady who was new to presenting even gave a lift to us – two stranded gentlemen to the train station when there was not a taxi to be found for love or money. Who ever said chivalry is dead or that it’s always the damsel who’s in distress.

New Company Name

Company Re-launch update
Guess what??? We have agreed, finally, on a name and yes it has been a quantum leap for our Conference Centre’s and yes we will be calling ourselves : Cavendish Conference Venues
Based on the strength of our marquee, Cavendish, this is the one to hold on to and we will now be under the one hat. All Centre’s notably the Mayfair, Cavendish, ICO, America Square and Hallam, when it happens, will be known as “Cavendish Conference Venues”!!
Now that’s a happy ending to a long saga!!!
