CCV – Weather Forecast

If like us you are a bit puzzled by the following words, millibars, high-pressure, low pressure, areas of depression, isobars and weather fronts. You find yourself getting a bit dizzy by all these hand signals or are a little confused of whether you are in the north, south, east or west let’s make it easier for you.
At the fully air conditioned Cavendish Conference Centre in W1 the forecast is cool, clear spells all summer long…….

Celebrity spotting at the ICO

A couple of weeks ago we had glamorous Samantha Mumba at the ICO doing some filming in our no less glamourous Board Room.
This is not the first time we have stars and cameras in our premises as the ICO’s atmospheric rooms are a favourite of film and TV location managers and, for instance, earlier this year we had a crew shooting Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming BBC drama.
In fact, we at the ICO affectionately refer to the Board Room as the ‘James Bond room’ because its massive wooden circular table and spot lights make it look like the perfect setting for a SPECTRE meeting in one of 007’s movies.

Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!

LCD projectors, plasma screens, teleconference kit… at the ICO we can provide you with all those if your event requires them (as is increasingly the case in this digital age) but we can also provide you with something a bit less common that makes of us quite a special venue: our translation facilities.
Our main rooms are equipped with five translation booths and the relevant audio equipment to allow you to host events in up to five languages with simultaneous translation, all with top quality digital sound that can be recorded to any support.
All this may sound very cold and technical but is one of the reasons why I love working at the ICO, as it means that very often we host events where delegates come from every corner of the planet giving you the opportunity to learn all kinds of interesting things.

Summer

It seems summer is finally here.
Longer, brighter days are not just nice out of the office; they also make working at the ICO more enjoyable. The sunlight filtered through the windows gives the teak on the Council Chamber a warm glow making it even more comfy.
Summer also brings the buzz of people enjoying a pint after work outside the nearby pubs -which reminds you that summer is very short and you must make the most of it- and, as you can guess, with the ICO being right in the heart of Soho, there are plenty of nearby pubs to choose from…

The F Word

The F Word
Not a dirty word but sustenance. Though it may not seem like it from the weather – summer is on its way. In preparation we’ve got brand spanking new menus at the Mayfair Conference Centre and the Cavendish Conference Centre so take your pick. However just in case we’ll let you choose from our new Winter menus if you prefer, when it’s not so nice outside and you need some comfort food.

Sitting Around

If we told you we were sitting around you’d think we were being lazy( ha ha ha) well, to come clean we have been doing a lot of sitting around, but honestly it really has been all WORK WORK AND MORE WORK! We’re choosing chairs for our two new venues America Square and Hallam so we’ve been sitting on rather a lot of chairs of all shapes, sizes and very intrested colours over the past few months. The things we have to do for your comfort is all part of the service at Cavendish Conference Venues.
