A message direct from our ‘dear leader’

“I’ve upped my sales – up yours!”
If you keep doing what you’ve always done – you will get what you’ve always got … makes sense doesn’t it – there are always reasons to stay the same.
“we need to keep our noses to the grindstone”

- It’s tough out there”
HOWEVER CHANGE IS GOOD
Imagine meeting with a corp client who is considering a series of conferences. Suddenly 10 mins into the meeting he jumps to his feet and says “right”.
Would you jump up too, tell him that you recognise he is busy and will get back to him with a proposal? Most sales people would.
Change – doing something different looks like this –
Stay seated and trust your instincts. You look up and say “sorry Sir I was hoping to ask you a few more questions so that my proposal makes sense. Is my time up?
To which he answers “good god know, I need a pee”
the salesperson got another hour resulting in lucrative contract.

Cavendish Conference Venues – a broad church

The ever widening range of events hosted by Cavendish Conference Venues took a further step forward today when we received our first enquiry to host a ‘civil ceremony’, Why Not? On a serious note the broad church of bookings that we cater for is ever greater, dinners / screenings / receptions the list is almost infinite.

Cavendish Conference Venues chosen once again for a series of high profile announcements:

Speaking at an event organized by the Royal Television Society (RTS) at the Cavendish Conference Centre in London Mark Thompson the director general of the BBC has made a series of landmark announcements:
- new proposals to introduce an archive that will allow viewers to download permanent copies of their favorite programmes, initially named project Barcelona
- The BBC’s director general Mark Thompson will say the corporation should “think carefully” about the size of its news operation given the scale of the economic pressures faced by newspapers.
The BBC announced just over a year ago that 360 staff would be cut from its online operation, with its budget due to be cut by 25% to £103m by next year.
- Separately, Thompson will outline further details of a “sustained attack” by the Iranian authorities on the BBC Persian service, which it says has 6 million listeners.
“It now looks as if those who seek to disrupt or block BBC Persian may be widening their tactics,” he will say.
“There was a day recently when there was a simultaneous attempt to jam two different satellite feeds of BBC Persian into Iran, to disrupt the service’s London phone lines by the use of multiple automatic calls, and a sophisticated cyber attack on the BBC.
“It is difficult, and may prove impossible, to confirm the source of these attacks, though attempted jamming of BBC services into Iran is nothing new and we regard the coincidence of these different attacks as self-evidently suspicious.”

Cavendish Conference Centre’s Marathon Men

Yes you guessed it and YES it is that time of the year again when testosterone kicks in and we all get carried away with how keen,ambitious and energetic we are and how OH MY GOD the marathon I signed up for 10 months ago is in 6 weeks and I’ve done no training yet and how much did I drink when I was “encouraged” to sign up for the London 2012 Marathon?? Holly Moses someone can, has to take my place……blah blah blah!!! Anyway that is where we find ourselves notably Tom Mayers, our Guru, who is very fit and prepared for his Marathon Experience and we have the “Other” Tom Froenhoefer (I’m not sure if that spelling is correct!) who says he is fit and well and prepared but I reckon he will walk the course in 10 hours, maybe less and maybe more, the pendulum is still swinging! GOOD LUCK to our two runners and it is all in a superb cause for Cardiomyopathy Association, Cavendish Conference Venues’ nominated charity and a superb organisation who do a fantastic amount of work

Cavendish Conference Centre’s and Beer – read on

The producers of this beer commercial borrowed a small 150-seat cinema playing a popular film, and filled 148 of its seats with
rough-looking, tatooed bikers, leaving only two free seats in the middle of the theater. They then allowed theater management to sell
tickets for the last pair of tickets to several young couples.
