Things are looking up?

May 10th, 2010

Looking through our forward diaries there seems to be no doubt that right at the moment things are getting better.  Despite adding 50% more capacity in the last year to 18 months are forward diaries are now fuller than they have been for a very long time. The scary thought is that maybe this is a blip maybe we will be swept back into the hellish place we have only just emerged from by the mighty cuts in public spending all the world is talking about.  Then again are we being sold a pup a little more scare mongering by the self interested, who knows? All we can do is crack on and keep on delivering fantastic conferences in our superb venues. That’s our bottom line.

Cavendish Conference Venues move to Smart meters

Cavendish Conference Venues move to Smart meters

We are installing smart meters at all our London conference venues for all our electricity supplies. This is part of our ongoing commitment to be as green / sustainable as possible. Smart meters are invaluable; they measure our electricity consumption far more accurately than conventional meters. We use the meter readings to check for electricity leakage and wastage, as such accurate meters will help us achieve our goal of a 20% year on year decline in electricity usage.

America Square Conference Centre, in the Cloud ?

January 23rd, 2010

America Square Conference Centre in the City of London EC3 is again demonstrating its market leading Tec credentials by hosting cloud camp 2010.

CloudCamp is a conference where adopters of Cloud Computing technologies exchange ideas. This CloudCamp Mixer at Poweredbycloud, a compressed CloudCamp, gives you the opportunity to join London’s cloud community, hear how cloud technology is being used to solve business problems, get your cloud questions answered and network with other cloud enthusiasts. The short keynote talk by Joe Baguley, European CTO at Quest Software and cloud proponent is “Pragmatic use of cloud computing in 2010″, As to the best of our knowledge the only venue with two completely independent sets of high capacity lines (as opposed to different carriers simply running on the BT infrastructure) we believe we are ahead of the crowd or cloud in our ability to offer city conference and meeting rooms to technology heavy clients.
